Strengths: Beautiful prints rival good photofinishers. No-brainer setup.
Weakness: The "special effects" and editing features built-in require that you have a tv connection. If these are important to you and you don't have a tv nearby, spring for the EX7 model with a built-in lcd.
I tend to do processing on all my pix with photoshop. This printer produces beautiful output and I am very happy with the results. You can certainly get 4 X 6 prints cheaper via on-line services like ofoto, shutterfly and even Sony, but if you want instant photo finisher quality results at home this printer will produce them. My wife always complained that she never saw the pix I took. Now she...
Strengths: fast, easy to install and use
Weakness: needs to be calibrated depending on the type of files you're processing
nice 4x6 prints. The prints can resist to water: after a glass of water on the print, ive noticed just a little moisture on the borders. Very impressive. Quality: 403dpi are more than enough, but this printer needs to be calibrated. I couldn't find a icc profile for this printer, and sony support was bouncing me from an office to another, then I gave up. My experience with files from my canon eos...
Strengths: easy and fast to hook up.
Weakness: you have to fix the color and brightest on every picture you print out.
this printer sucks. first of all you spend over 5 min. on every picture trying to fix the quailty of it and when you think you got it, it prints out terrible. Its an inconvenice to always have to hook it up to your TV. The quailty of the printer doesnt seem like it would last long at all, to top it off when you buy the printer it doesnt even come with test paper to try it out for the first time....
Strengths: Easy to setup and easy to use. The photo quality is excellent. The dye-sublimation is excellent. The features are fun to use.
Weakness: You have to buy a package of special paper wich includes the print cartridge.
I just can't say enough about this device. The printing is excellent and so easy to use. I can't wait till the holiday's ! It has really neat features. What would be even cooler would be to have it somehow email your creation out and have the receiver able to print it. But you can save your creation to the memory disk, which is pretty neat. So I guess you could email it and then have the user put...

Sony DPP-EX5 Digital Inkjet Photo Printer
Strengths: Small, Fast, Grate Output, Low Cost Per Page, easy to set up.
Weakness: Extra Features only work if you hook it up to a TV, and have the printer read your pix from the Memory stick Slot, Driver for windows has no options at all.
I love the Speed & Quality and Low Cost Per Page of My DPP-EX5, However Sony needs to make a Driver that offers PC Users more Controll, all the extra Features of my DPP-EX5 work only when it is hooked to the TV, and you load pix from the SOny Memory stick slot, Problem is my Camera uses smartmedia cards and I use my PC not the TV. The Driver For windows has no options at all, sony counts on you...
