Strengths: Low Cost, Network Ready, Workhorse--duty cycle exceeds 30K monthly
Weakness: The annoying user interface is hard to read and the duplexer is more expensive than the machine itself. It is a little power hungry as my lights dim when this guy purrs up.
I was searching for a low cost, laser printer to use in my small office and I saw the Magicolor 2300 DL in one of the big office supply stores and I fell in love with it. Of course the $599 price tag made me look elsewhere. My diligence in finding a cheaper price paid off because I found this guy for less than $400 (without a rebate and shipping included!!!). I use it for all my printing. It is a...
Strengths: Quick prints compared to other color lasers, and great print results. Image quality is better the some more expensive lasers like the Lexmark C750. Outstanding customer service.
Weakness: Network setup could be a little tricky if your not familiar with networks.
Customer Service was outstanding. Had some trouble finding SIMM module that would work for memory upgrade. (supplier issue not Minolta's) Called thier customer service for explanation, and got great info, and they sent me a module overnight, which I didn't expect. I work with a Lexmark C750 which was twice the price that I am not half as pleased with.
Strengths: simple setup, easy to use, excellent black and white and color printing, user friendly, excellent value for the price
Weakness: user screen on printer is hard to read; however, most functions can be accessed off of your computer
Our office has never had a laser color printer, had been using a slow ink jet; what a difference! and at this price, we will probably add a couple more of these. Highly recommend.
Strengths: Excellent print speed, quality. Good price.
Weakness: Very difficult to get set up on network using installed print server. Can't print on glossy paper. Display could be back lit.
I purchased the Magicolor 2300DL (Desk Laser) for my home network because it was very inexpensive for a color laser. I was unable to get it to work on my network using dynamic IP addressing (DHCP). Neither the documentation or their site was much help with this. However, when I manually set the IP address, gateway, and subnet mask the printer networked like a charm. This was the only problem I...
Strengths: I love this printer. No major issues yet, unlike the HP I replaced. The small footprint and integrated NIC makes it easy to set up. Will definatly buy another for my home
Weakness: none so far
You get more for your money with this printer. Don't make the mistake of buying HP. Minolta has set the bar with this printer.
Strengths: Nice quick printing. Small machine.
Weakness: Had to call for network install help because of install CD, but was happily assisted through test print after just a 45 sec. wait! The LCD is not backlit (kept price low?)
This printer is really cool. We just wanted to make broshures that would not run. The paper is feed is on the left side, which is convenient.
Strengths: This printer gives great print quality and is very fast for a printer of this price. I use the duplexer and I wouldn't own one without it. It saves a lot of paper, and I travel a lot.
Weakness: None
Don't listen to the bad review that says the paper input is in the back. Just look at the picture and you can see the paper loads on the left as you stand in front of it. People who write reviews should actually have seen one.
Strengths: Great Great value, great print quality, very easy to set up and use.
Weakness: Its such good value it feels churlish to say the print speed is slow!
What a great machine this is! I have suffered a Tektronix 740 for the last 3 years and finally decided enough was enough when the fuser needed replacing for the second time in a year. I was able to buy the Minolta for less than the price of replacing the fuser of the Tektronix!! It gives better quality prints which on a USB come out in a fraction of the time it took the Tektronix. At this price...
Strengths: Excellent color print out. Very easy to setup (networked with out a server) and good printing time. Convenient and easy LCD menu.
Weakness: Little noisey and power consumming but I guess all the laser printers are little noisey.
I was considering Magicolor 2300W at first, but since the 2300W didn't support network I went with this one and I'm glad I did. I have not seen any other color laser printer with better value. I love it! and you'll love it.

Konica Minolta Magicolor 2300DL Printer
Strengths: Fast, cheap, colorful printing on plain paper. I bought this printer to replace a Inkjet for printing photos.
Weakness: Heavy, power hungry, not as vivid output as dye-sub or dedicated photo printers.
I've ran off over 100 8.5x11" pages of PHOTOGRAPHS and photo album pages off this printer and the worse of the toners (Black) is still 83 percent full. I'm impressed. This is with the toner that came with the printer folks. At this rate I'm expecting 400+ color photo pages from a set of STANDARD toner cartridges. To sweeten the deal, the printer came with a full set (not demo or 1/2 empty...
