Strengths: Quiet, fast, great print quality, fantastic photos
Weakness: have not found any sofar
This is a great printer, I replacd an HP printer that was costing a fortune in ink replacement. The quailty is better than the HP and the ink is cheaper.
Strengths: Not too big, pretty fast, high print quality, low price for printer and ink ($11. shipped for a set of fine compatible tanks), features never before seen in a $100. printer.
Weakness: Bigger and heavier than most ink jet printers in this price range.
. My actual rating is 9/10 or 4.5 stars... . Why "9" - because nothing is perfect and there is still no direct driver support from Canon for Linux - until there is, NO Canon will earn a 10 from me... . Well, what can I say other than, Canon has done it again. Did you ever expect to see auto-duplex printing and two paper bins/paths that can be software or manually selected for under $100.00?...
Strengths: Reasonably priced, great print quality, good print speed
Weakness: No USB cable, large foodprint
The quality of the prints from this unit is pretty amazing. I use it to print photos and find the prints to come out just as good as if it was developed from a fotomat. Price was reasonable and the print cartridges were inexpensive too. My only complaint is that there isn't a USB cable (all printers should come with one INCLUDED). I highly recommend this unit to anyone who seeks great photo...
After realizing that I'd need to spend about $60 to buy ink jet cartridges to get my old HP610C running again, I thought I'd look at new printers. I've always bought HP, but was swayed by the good recommendations everyone had for the Canon PIXMA ip3000. This printer really has it all. It produces beautiful borderless prints that look and feel like they were developed from negatives. It also does...
Strengths: Great quality text and color, speed, low noise, reduced noise mode, easy to set up, paper cassette plus tray, duplex (double sided) and borderless printing, 3 color ink tanks, replaceable print head
Weakness: a bit wide, too many strengths to fit into the strengths box
The best printer I have ever owned; considering every printer I have ever owned has been either Epson or Lexmark, this isn't saying much, but I have used other Canon printers and this is the best one in my experience. After less than 10 minutes of setup (from opening the box to a test print) I printed about 30 borderless 4x6 prints which surpassed any other consumer-level inkjet printer I have...
Strengths: Economical, quiet, fast. The Easy WebPrint software comes in handy quite often. The two-sided printing also is a nice plus.
Weakness: Doesn't have the two different black cartridges that Canon's better photo printers have.
I'm so happy to have finally gotten rid of my ink-guzzling Epson. For the price (around $50 after rebate), the ip3000 is is a good, fast, quiet, versatile printer. Compatible ink cartridges from inkgrabber.com work fine on this machine, so the cost remains low in the long term. You'll probably want a higher-end printer if you print a lot of photos.
Strengths: Very fast, easy to set up and configure. Dual trays, great color prints, and good price.
Weakness: Front panel is a bit flimsy.
For the money, I believe this is a great printer for photos and texts. The 4x6 prints that I have produced are gorgeous, and they come out fast. The printer is easy to configure and set up with the computer, and I like the software that comes with it. The dual trays are great - I can leave my text paper in the bottom try and then load the photo paper on the top without removing the paper. With...
Strengths: Excellent value, ease of Installation, print quality, paper handling, quiet.
Weakness: Some banding in large black areas or photo printing
The Pixma has a much smaller footprint than my older Canon BJ6000. I installed the printer in less than 30 minutes – it took me longer to read the installation guide than to actually install it. When I installed it at first, I still had the internal covers open, and received an error message for that. When I shut the covers, the error message was resolved, but the installation did not continue...
Strengths: Excellent photo prints, fast printer, good value for the dollar. Individual ink tanks are the only way to go! Duplex printing too!
Weakness: Front door is a bit flimsy, sticks sometimes when trying to open it.
I bought this printer to replace an i850 that was need of a new printhead. The new print head was $52, this printer was $80. I'd say this is a model for model replacement for the i850. Its a four color printer - uses ink tanks for each color so you only replace the one that is running low - saves big $$$. The duplex printer actually works - its pretty nice for printer webpages that go on and on....

Another awesome printer from Canon
Strengths: Auto-duplex printing, auto-on, quality prints, pictBridge, cassette loading, onboard controls + great software driver
Weakness: Auto-duplex printing kind of useless as turning this option on renders black ink almost unreadable
This is my third Canon ink printer (had i320 and i70 before) and again it's another quality (and inexpensive) printer from Canon! Print quality is absolutely awesome for a printer in this price range, and there are lots of bells and whistles that some of the expensive models don't even have. Cassette paper loading, auto-duplex printing, front panel control, pictBridge with front USB port, and an...
