Strengths: Cheap, can be purchased free after rebate as a bundle with a new computer quite often. Gives you the ability to print a photo at home.
Weakness: No included usb cable. Photo ink is expensive.
Somewhat of a pet peeve, but usb cables are quite cheap (if you don't buy them at a big box retailer), and it wouldn't affect the price of the printer at all to include one in the box. It prints decent photos, but uses ink up quickly, just like most photo printers. Great for the occasional print, or for something custom you want to do at home.
Strengths: High resolution, fast printing speed, quiet printing, small and compact design
Weakness: Ink tanks are expensive, no cable included
This is a quite compact photo printer which doesn't take much of your desktop space. The resolution is very high, 4800x1200 DPI, which is good enough for family use and normal photo printing. This printer is very quiet when it is printing and the speed is ok (20ppm). The only thing is that the ink tank may be used up easily and they are quite expensive. The printer doesnot come with usb 2.0 cable.
Strengths: inexpensive, good print quality
Weakness: slow photo printing
Pixma iP1800 Inkjet Printer is overall a good printer for the price. The text comes out good, the color for photo print is clear and sharp. The software installation is relatively easy and it's compatible with PC or Mac. It's pretty slow when it prints in color but for B&W, it's pretty fast for an inkjet.
Strengths: Price, Style, Size
Weakness: Slow
As noted, this printer can be had for next to nothing - free in some cases. For a very inexpensive printer, it is solidly built, compact, and quite stylish. The negatives are speed, relatively expensive ink, and lack of a cable. Since all the profits are in the ink, the fact that manufacturers do not include a USB cable so you can begin using it immediately is amazing to me.
Strengths: Good photo quality. cheap price
Weakness: No memory card slots
I love Canon printers. They usually have good printing quality. And I think the photo quality is best, if you use Canon paper too. I used some HP paper, and found the quality is not as good. The only problem is it does not have memory card slot. So you must have it connected to the computer. Since I have a couple of computers at home, to share the printer is a bit of pain. Overall, this is a good...
Strengths: works well, easy to install, looks nice
Weakness: ink usage is high
this is a very nice printer if you can find it for $20 or less. over that price, i think there are better options. it has sort of a cheap feel to it but works very well. it consumes ink very quickly though and replacements are expensive. no trouble setting this up with xp either, so that's a plus.
Strengths: Good printer quality...fairly speedy.
Weakness: Replacement ink cartridges aren't super cheap, but whose are?
Has been working great as a basic printer. I needed something that printed color, as my laser printer is only B&W. I'm surprised at the good output, though I haven't tried printing pictures. I usually get those professionally done, anyhow, due to the lower cost for 4x6 prints:)
Strengths: Small easy to operate
Weakness: No USB cable and slow
The printer is cheap for the price printing is okay little bit slow with no USB Cable. Printing quality is okay takes some time. Very easy to install and works right away.
Strengths: Small, lightweight printer, easy to use, price
Weakness: Ink is expensive, no paper tray. Supplied ink is only 40%
Decent printer for the money. prints out nice photos and text. Prints come out fast, especially documents. Setup was easy and all in all, it's a good printer for the average jobs.
THE GOOD: Decent print quality and speed for the price; inexpensive inkjet printer; great software bundle; supports Vista. THE BAD: No output tray; stingy warranty. THE BOTTOM LINE: With its decent print speeds, serviceable print quality, and great software package, the Canon Pixma iP1800 is a good choice for home users who want an inexpensive inkjet printer for basic printing needs.

The iP1800 exceeded our expectations of how well a $50 printer could perform. Though shadow detail was lacking and blacks appeared too light, the iP1800’s ability to produce very good photos was impressive for a printer at this price.

Simple Printer Delivers Simply Average Results
Strengths: Compact Design | Very Affordable Price | Crisp Text Prints, Quality Photo Prints
Weakness: No Media Card Reader | No Paper Tray | Expensive Ink | Just Average
Although you shouldn't expect much from a $50 printer, the Canon Pixma iP1800 managed to deliver quality prints and crisp text at a low cost. The biggest problem with the printer (excluding the expensive ink, which plagues virtually all inkjet printers) is the lack of an output paper tray. I lack desk space with my dual monitor setup, so I had to put the printer high up on top of the desk, right...
