Great printer for the price!

Strengths: Prints great-looking, business-quality documents and images

Weakness: None found yet!

I bought this printer Jul. 2005 from Bestbuy and I have to say that it is an excellent printer. The quality, resolution, and clarity is "excellent." You will be very impressed. Highly recommended!

HP (Hewlett-Packard) 2550N Laser Printer

Strengths: Decent color laser printer if you prefer the HP name. Print quality is pretty good.

Weakness: Not that fast for a color laser printer and the price per page when printing color is outrageous.

It's good if you need a basic printer for home or office use and prefer the reliability of a laser printer. But when it comes to photos, I'd prefer to have a good 'ol inkjet printer by my side.

Disappointing print quality

Strengths: low price

Weakness: slow speed

I found the print quality to be disappointing, however. It's better than an inkjet but not nearly as sharp as a monochrome laser. I can't tell whether it's worse than comparable color lasers--it's just not as good as I expected. The thing that really ticked me off is that the cartridges expire after a set number of pages even if there's ink left in them. At $600 for a replacement set of...

HP 2550N Laser Printer

Strengths: (1)size compact. Small than DELL 3100CN (2)Include Printer Server. Can print online. (3)printed words are very sharp. (4)With Larger RAM: 64MB (5)Support both PC and MAC

Weakness: (1)Drum and Cartridge are make together. So you have to change drum with cartridge. (2) Cartridge are too expensive (3) No USB cable include. You have to purchase it seperately. (4)No Duplex

We reviewed the LaserJet 2550N in What's New, Shopper July 2005. so we're familiar with the rounded design of this network version. Compare with 2550L, a decent budget colour laser with a 125-sheet input tray, the 2550n sits on an additional 250-sheet cassette, which makes it far more flexible, but duplex still isn't an available option. I have DELL 3100CN color printer. The LaserJet is much...

2550N Good bang for the buck

Strengths: Good printer, decent output

Weakness: Not easy to put in small spaces, slow first page output

Good printer for the money, if you need a networked color laser give this one a look. While the toner carts a a tad pricey, the cost per page is much less then the consumer level ink jets out there.

It is a OK printer

Strengths: Output looks good. Range of connectivity. Very simple setup under OS-X.

Weakness: None, apart from robbing you of desk space if you are tight on it!

1) Shape forces legal tray to stay exposed on rear of printer by ~2" X full width of tray. This, over time, allows dust build-up which will affect internal functioning of printer. A totally stupid and indefensible idea. 2) 500 sheet tray is expensive for an add-on which is a necessary to make this printer useful.

Cost Effective

Strengths: Excellent Quality, expecially in Black&White.

Weakness: Extremely noisy

Overall, this is a good printer and has lots of basic features. Ideal for home or small office. Graphics print quality and color is as good as you will find in a color laser. It is a bit noisy but it is decent one considering the price.

Good printer for the money.

Strengths: Great image quality for a printer in this price class.

Weakness: Slow to get the first page out (slower than the older CLJ 1500 series).

Purchased this on sale at a major office retail chain and have been using it for a week now. It replaced a Color LaserJet 1500 and has slightly better image quality and faster B+W printing. My major complaint is this printer takes 2-3x longer to start printing the first page than the CLJ 1500.

Satisfying Buy

Strengths: Really fast for Word type docs. Good color printing. Solid. Easy to set up. It's not as noisy as I expected, after reading the reviews.

Weakness: I had a hard time opening the Paper Tray 2. I think the shipping pin was making it stick. The CD was cracked, but HP support got me going quickly. (Though they don't appear to be available weekends.)

I've only used it a few times for maybe half a ream, but so far it's quite good. (That's an understatement.) It doesn't print pdf files very quickly. I'm not sure why, but it's like 4 sheets a minute... if that. I read a million reviews (exaggeration) and this one seemed to be good. So far, I have to agree. It seems big but really I think it's much taller than my old ink jet... but not all that...
