Strengths: Very easy to use. It is portable so you can take it with you and print photos anywhere. It takes multiple memory cards so it doesn't matter what kind of camera you have.
Weakness: I haven't found any weakness as of yet. I have had the printer for 1 day and haven't had a problem.
I would recommend this photo printer. It is compact, portable, easy to use. It takes a regular ink cartridge to refill. The cost per photo is reasonable. Very pleased.

I got this a week plus ago and put it to work right away! It has seen over 300 prints without a flaw and ink consumption seem minimal. Suprizing worhorse of a pronter in a "pony" size. Already purchased another!

Very good print quality, fast and quiet. Althought the ink cartridge is kind of small. After I print 15 photos, 1/5 of the ink is gone. The software is excellent and easy to use.

I love that I can print 4x6 photos without needing to cut them out from larger paper as I was doing with my larger desktop printer. I have not had a chance to try the printer out without having it hooked to my PC, but I can see how it would be workable though not as easy as with other printers I've seen which have the screen to see the pictures in question first.
Print quality is excellent. It's nice to be able to print pictures and tell my software to just scale to fit the 4x6 page instead of needing to size them myself before printing.

Overall, the printer is a solid performer and comparable to the more expensive multifunction and photo printers that hp offers (same ink, too). May wish to invest in a 2410 multifunction if you could use the extra features. If you don't, and only need 4*6 prints, this will definitely do the trick.

TopStrengths: For the price this money well spent.
Weakness: Need more than expected investment in ink, paper to start.
The dpi is 4800 x 1200 - GOOD enough for 4X6 photo printing. It prints vibrant, wonderful pictures. This is a compact printer that you can take along with you. But the investment in extra ink and paper is much more than the price of this printer as you keep printing.

OK, this photo printer is good when I got a replacement. I didn't use it until almost two months later and found it's defective. The pictures are unacceptable so I contacted HP and got a replacement. The replaced is a VERY-used one and made in 2003. But it works. The quality of the pics are very good. Recommended.

I originally intended to give this printer as a Christmas gift, but finally decided to keep it myself.
It is specifically designed to make 4x6" prints, either from a computer or directly from a memory card. To a computer, the PS145 appears as both a printer and a disk drive (i.e., memory card reader). In addition, the PS145 can print photos standalone from a memory card. The PS145 can print a thumbnail index of the photos on the memory card, but it cannot preview individual photos--its LCD screen is only for information and directions.
If, however, you use your camera to select photos for printing via the DPOF standard, the PS145 can then print exactly those selected photos. You can therefore use your camera as the preview device.
Ink for this printer is rather expensive (>$18 for each tri-color cartridge). I myself generally stick to Epson and Canon printers, for which inexpensive generic ink tanks are typically available.
Prints are faithful to what the camera took and saved; but those of us who typically like to crop or enhance our photos will need to connect this printer to a computer anyway.

TopStrengths: Don't really have any complaints so far. Pictures turn out very nice. Very compact.
Weakness: Printing time seems a little long but it's not that bad, I'd say about 45-60 seconds a print.
I've had this printer for about a month now and have printed probably about 15 pics using it. The ink cartridge still seems to be going strong. I'm not sure of the normal life in this printer though. Printer is very compact and could easily be taken just about anywhere you would want to print pictures.

Overall it's a printer of its kind which does it's supposed work. Small, quiet, and the most appealing feature is the embedded card reader. You can use this printer as a card reader so you save the money for an extra card reader. The printing quality is ok, although not as good as I get from walmart. Considering its price it's a very good choice if you need one.

Strengths: solid performer , small and portable, multi-memory reader
Weakness: Compact -No extra features
The printer is great quality. If you like the extra features, you should have a full size printer. If you don't, and like 4*6 prints, this is it. Memory reader is a nice touch. Great portablity.

If you are looking for cheap portable, dedicated photo printer, this one is your choice. It's very lightweight, compact and easy to use. It takes memory cards easily. It also includes multitude of direct-print options However, the print quality is just so so and the printing speed is very slow.

Weakness: I only printed two pictures till now. It seems to me that the speed is a little bit slow.
Generally speaking, it is a good printer that can provide vivid image as we see on the screen. More over, it is not necessary to operate with computer, which is a great advantage as a portable printer. It would be perfect if the print speed can be faster.

Lets face it, this printer should be used for what it's designed for: It's a compact 4x6 photo printer, designed for printing quality photos only. It's also designed for portability and small enough to cart around. Based on it's portability, you'd think that the LCD should be a required feature rather than an option, so if you plan to use it in a portable use-case, consider a higher end HP printer, in the same line, with the LCD.

TopStrengths: I feel it is really easy to use. very portable. Easier to share with friends. The resolusion is good enough to have great photo prints.
Weakness: It only has monochrome LCD for text and we cannot review the pictures without computer. If it can have some simple photo editing tools onboard, that would be great.
In total, the photo printer is acceptabl for home usage. The portability and compact size are the good points. But it still need a computer in order to see the real picture sicne the LCD is only text. Anyway it do have the onboard card reader. The software is easy to install and ues.
But if people want really good print quality, this printer may have some trouble since it use the single 3 ink cartridge. The prints have good color, but the edge is not sharp.

Although, I've only had the printer a short time, I am very impressed by its small compact & portable nature. Very nice for printing on the spot pix w/ no computer needed. Nice interface, easy to use.

The quality of the photo is much better than I thought. It is much better than the photos I printed in Target. I always heard that the color of Canon printer is better than HP, now I do not agree it any longer.

It is a good low end photo printer. You pay what you get. The small size is a big advantage of this printer, since you can almost put it anywhere in your office or in your home.
One thing need to note: buying bare photo paper is more expensive than printing your photo online!

Weakness: the time to print one photo is too long: sometimes it takes up to two minutes.
The best thing about this printer is (1) small size (2)easy to use. The worst thing about it is (1) very slow printing speed (2) colors are not as vivid as it used to be if I develop the photo from a digital print store.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 145 Inkjet Printer -...
Strengths: Easy to set up and use. Multiple memory card formats. Works well with HP Photosmart cameras with instant share; select shots while in camera, designate for printing and the rest is automatic.
Weakness: The display on top doesn't have a color LCD and can't show the actual pictures themselves, but with instant share this isn't really a problem.
The printer is very compact and prints excellent quality photos in a 4x6 inch size. It is very easy to use, and portable. Since it has individual slots for all of the popular memory cards, you do not need to use up camera batteries while printing, but will also connect easily to a camera dock or computer.
