I replaced an HP 1115 with this printer for a little more than the cost of two new ink cartridges for the old HP. The HP sucked ink like mad! I have tried printing some photos and have had very good results so far. The I560 is definitely much faster than my old HP too! So far I'm a happy camper. You can't ask for much more for under $100!

I replaced my HP Deskjet 930c with this printer because the cost of a new HP color cartridge was about the same price as this printer! I bought this printer for the purpose of printing digital pictures, and so far it has been well worth it. The pictures come out nice and fast with great color quality on the relatively low grade photo paper that I have.

TopStrengths: Reliable, VG text printing, virtually jam-proof, One jam, cleared easily, and restart button gave good results.
Weakness: Long, noisy start-up, with 30 seconds of whirring and clanking, ending with a jerky paper grab. Color not as good as my former HP; disappointing results with photos. Ink cartridges don't last long.
Flimsily built machine; I immediately wanted my HP printer back, but it was dead. With mail, you have to remove paper from tray, and place envelope in tray alone. Sometimes it whirs and groans on it's on, noisily setting itself up for the next job. Text Printing is noisy & jerky, but the results are very good. See-through Ink cartridges are easy to change, and software gives on screen pop-up warnings of low ink supply (nice) Good quality adjustments, but they don't always hold the settings.

TopStrengths: Low cost, it quickly prints beautiful color photos from my computer or directly from my Canon digital camera, it comes with easy to use software and it's not an ink hog.
Weakness: None so far.
I needed to replace a two year-old HP "photo quality" printer. The price was right, the photo prints are quick and outstanding quality. Black and white prints are great too. I like the top paper feeder as it doesn't curl my photos or other paper projects like all HP's. It's quiet and very fast for the quality of output. I tried an Epson C82 and returned it immediately. What a noisy, poor quality printer! This is my first Canon printer and I love it. I would buy another in an instant.

TopStrengths: Efficient ink utilitization with 4 ink wells. Good photo prints.

We really like the function of this printer. We have it on a home network (off of a PC) and it is working great. Colors are rich, photos better than expected (on photo paper), and four ink wells should be a standard on ALL printers. For $85, you'll be hard pressed to beat this printer.

TopRobust, easy to use, reliable. These are just a few adjectives to describe my impression of the Canon i560 Inkjet Photo Printer. I have had my fair share of bad experiences with printers (other mfg), so I was very pleased with the performance of this piece of equipment. I highly recommend it as a cost effective utility printer for the home.

Weakness: Doesn't look as cool as the i860 but it's more compact. Warranty is only 1 year.
The Canon i560 is a great printer. Print quality both text and photo is the best out there for its price and it even beats other more expensive printers. Printing speed is excellent. Don't know why a few were having problems but it was a cinch to setup. The individual color cartridges saves a lot of money since you only have to replace just the color you need.

TopStrengths: It can shut off automatically and turn on automatically when a print job is sent to it.
Weakness: There doesn't seem to be a way to continuously monitor ink levels as it seems it only warns you when the ink is low.
I bought this printer as well as the dlink dp-300u print server because I didn't want to have to turn on one computer to print out from another one and it seems to perform this function very well. I haven't printed any photos out on it yet but I don't really plan on using it for that as it is more cost effective to print them out at Walgreen's. I'm quite impressed with the speed as well even though as most everyone knows the manufacture reported speed and the actual print speed is much lower. I especially like the automatic shut off feature as I hear it is easier on the printer if it doesn't remain on all the time when you're not using it. This is especially useful coupled with the ability for it to turn on when you send it a print job because you don't want to have to run to the printer to turn it on every time you want to print something out if your printer is located in a room other than your computer. I would definitely recommend this printer to anyone who wants to share the printer across a network.

Only 2 weeks, but so far the Canon 560 is really impressive. By comparison, my similarly-priced "best-rated" HP was noisy, used lots of ink, gave only so-so results, and then lost its mind after a year (only a 90 day warranty anyway...): Bye-bye HP.
For the price, the Canon 560 is a major deal!

I have been using this printer for a few months for both photo and text printing. I am extremely pleased with the output quality. Photos in particular come out very well - on the right paper, they look like prints from a photo lab. Text is very good for an inkjet, but not as sharp as my HP laser printer. This printer is very efficient with ink, and the replacement ink tanks are relatively cheap. Overall, highly recommended.

This was a replacement for a one year old HP 3820 printer. The printer was priced well and the photo prints are quick with excellent quality. Black and white prints and text are clear and print quickly. Compared to the HP this printer is faster,produces better quality prints and will hopefully last longer than 1 year. I like the 4 separate ink cartridges, it makes replacement much more cost effective.

Weakness: Somewhat flimsy construction
I needed a relatively inexpensive printer for both text and photos. I had an old HP722c that was great on text but poor on photos and an Epson C80 that was good with photos and poor with text. The i560 does excellent work on both and seems to be quite economical in its ink consumption. The paper tray is quite lightweight but folds away nicely. With rebates, this printer cost $80, an outstanding bargain.

Weakness: Took me a few tries to figure out how to put the paper in, but if you read the manual you won't have a problem. USB or parallel port cable not included in package.
I mostly bought this printer to print papers for school, it's been excellent, no smearing, quick drying time, extremely fast printing speed. I like that I will also be able to print photos, although I haven't had a chance to yet. Separate ink tanks for each color is nice, and Canon ink is the cheapest! If you have a Canon digital camera, you can print directly from the camera. Lots of photo software included with the printer. I would definitely buy this product again, especially now with the $30 rebate!

My previous printer was an HP Deskjet 722 which performed well. The i560 from Canon exceeds that performance and produces clear, high quality printing whether black and white or printing. The instructions were easy to follow and I had the printer up and running in 15 minutes after loading the software and print-testing the sample page. Overall a great machine!

I like the speed of the printer. The printing and graphics come out very well. I am a very basic computer user and this is perfect for me, not complicated. Did have some problems installing the program so it took longer than I wished.

This is an outstanding printer fort the price/perfomance ratio. I didn't expect a color printer to print as quickly as this one, and with surprisngly good quality. I also like the driver for this printer; it's nice, clean, and easy to navigate.

TopStrengths: Graphics and text are very good. Photo printing is fast, photo quality is high when set on optimal settings, and initial setup and configuration with included software is a breeze.
Weakness: Included photo editting software provides the basics with little advanced features. Direct printing without computer does not give user much editting power.
The canon i560 photo printer is an excellent all around printer providing very good graphics, text, and photo printing capabilities. The included installation software provides quick and easy setup of printer.
Although the direct - no pc - printing feature of the canon i560 is easy to use, a user's ability to do much with the printouts is limited. The included photo editing software allows users to be a little more creative although users that desire more advanced features will need to add a photo editing and/or photo organization software package.
Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and I would highly recommend the i560 to anyone looking for an excellent all around printer.

Weakness: Doesn't print what you see on your screen
If you are printing from your camera and don't really care what they look like: buy this printer. But if you create beautiful images to share, this printer will waste your time, paper and energy. I have struggled with this printer to simply duplicate what the local drug store quick print can create for 29 cents per 4x6. After hours of work, lots of pages of test strips, and trouble I have something close. My loss is your gain. Stay away from this printer.

This printer is by far the best midline inkjet printer on the market. I'm still using an Epson 880 printer and bought the Canon i560 as a potential upgrade/replacement. I like the fact that it has individual ink cartridges rather than a combined three color cartridge of the Epson. The i560 offers the direct link to my digital camera that isn't available with the Epson 880. I'm pleased with the upgrade.

Canon is well known for its excellent quality. I bought a Canon printer & scanner last two months and I am very satisfied with them. I plan to buy a Canon digital camera later on.
I would highly recommend this printer to basic home users. My friend has a Canon I860. It has a better resolution but huge size. I think I560 already suits all my needs.

Have both the same level HP and Epson and found this printer to perform far above the two. Printing either text or photos, this printer wins both. This printer led me to printing more of my own photos. Makes a 3.2 Mgp camera look alot better

TopStrengths: Excellent quality and fast photo and text printing. Relatively cheap machine and ink, more if you consider 4 ink tanks. Trays close like shell to prevent dust.
Weakness: Makes noise when loading paper and when printing in draft mode (perhaps because speedier printing).
I held on the purchase of new printer for 6 months until I was sure that there is a good one in the market. I am happy that I did because I got what I was looking for. Good printing on Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy and better on Canon Photo Paper Pro Glossy. However, Canon papers are difficult to find and about 30% more expensive. It is easier and thus cheaper to get Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper. The quality is comparable to Canon Photo Paper Plus but needs color tweaking as output looks a bit yellowish. I have not tried to tune the i560 to Epson paper but if anyone knows I will be very happy to know and start from it. I tried Kodak Uptima with bad result. Kodak publish in its website the suggested settings (Magenta +5, Yellow +5). It gives better color tone but photo comes out too grainy.

I have had an i560 printer in my home for over a year, and really love it. I originally bought it as a companion to my Canon camera. The photo printing is GREAT. As an IT Manager who has to find small printers for some users, I chose the i560 for the economical aspects as well as the fact that it has caused no problems that many smaller printers can. The most basic of users will have no problems with the Canon i560. Performance, economy and easy too!!

Weakness: Printer status not shown until there's a problem, such as no paper loaded or the cover is lifted while printing.
I believe Canon has a winner with the i560. The printer made acceptable to excellent true color balanced prints right out of the box. There was some slight tweeking to get the best balance, but not anything compare to other printers we have used, e.g. Epson.
Found that Sam's has the best price at $99.87 as well as the ink cartridge prices.

After suffering with a noisy, tempermental epson for several years, I decided to get something that could hook directly to my digital camera, so I went for the newly released Canon. The i560 rocks! It was simple to set up, and has printed wonderfully from Quark on crappy copier paper. I put in a slightly better sheet and the results are amazing. Photo paper—wow! Silent, fast, 12$ ink tanks, what more can you ask for??? And Chumbo.com shipped perfectly too. After 15 years of purchasing computer equipment mail order, I finally had a flawless transaction from start to finish. Thanks MacWorld, for providing the info so I could work it all out within an hour.

Canon Bubble Jet i560 Photo Printer
Strengths: Easy set up. great text and superior color photos. Quiet compared to old HP 660. Does not take up much room. Can be used with an old style printer cable so a USB cord is not required.
Weakness: None so far.
I was going to buy one of those new HP 8 color printers at close to $300.00 to do photos. When I saw the qaulity of the prints produced for the price I changed my mind. I like the transparent ink resurirs so I know when the ink is running out. The ink is less expensive too. I ran some photos on Kodak glose paper and they were great. Prints should be even better on Canon paper. I was looking at the Canon 960 but at half the price the 560 is a better deal. If you will be printing mostly text with some photographs (that you want to look good) this is the machine. The salepersons at the local stores will try and steer you towards an HP but do you own comparison. In my opinion a $100.00 Canon will beat a $100.00 HP hands down. You will need a $300.00 HP to beat the 560. You should save on the cost of ink over the life of the machine also.
